Blood Demon’s Retirement I: To See A Beautiful World - Avitue

Civil War had raged on the Al-Shan Archipelago for the past four decades, only recently coming to an end with the enthronement of the new Emperor.

This is not his story.

The Blood Demon, renowned general of said civil war, was tired of all the fighting and politicking that had described the last four decades of her existence. All she really wanted to do now is to go out into the world and see the many lands from her father's stories.

Thus she retired, and went and did exactly what she wanted.

This is the story of what happens when you toss a (retired) war machine with somewhat lacking common sense into an unsuspecting world at peace.

Blood Demon’s Retirement II: Family, Lost & Found - Avitue

Family. That was something Cal, the Blood Demon of Al-Shan, had mostly forgotten about since she was orphaned after her parents passed away. Meeting with a half-brother she had not known she had during her travels was a pleasant occasion, to be sure.

What she had not expected was to find even more family, other siblings her late father had left behind. Nieces and Nephews, even someone she could consider a stepmother. Others that she never even imagined were still around. Slowly, she started to recall the feeling of warmth and belonging that a family gave out. A feeling she had thought was lost with her parents.

A feeling that had been rekindled by her newly found family.

Blood Demon’s Retirement III: A Peace Found Within - Avitue

A Family to call her own. A Path to follow for the future. An Opportunity most would have never dreamed of.

Cal found herself on the receiving end of many things she never once thought she would be gifted with back when her journey began.

Some part of her still felt that one with a bloodied past like hers did not deserve such things, yet that part was slowly, surely, receding to an abandoned corner of her psyche. In its stead, she found a peace she had not felt for a long time growing inside her heart.

Blood Demon’s Retirement IV: Ascension Unto Eternity - Avitue

As the end of her journey loomed and a pleasant future was laid out before her, Cal was left with but one question to grapple with: Should she should accept the generous offer from the Deities and become one of their Champions?

She hoped that she'd find answers that would help her make that decision on the final leg of her journey around the world, where she'd fulfill one of her long-time dreams to see the world beyond the isles where she was born.

Whatever the result, she knew that the choice she made would be her own, made without regrets. For all she knew, an ending to one story might well just be the prelude to another...

Unliving: Obligations of the Living - Avitue

For the longest time, Aideen Fiachna had only one prescient wish; to be the daughter her parents could take pride in.

The idea was a tall order, especially as her father stood at the head of the Templar order, and her grandfather as the Pope. However, she endeavored to try nonetheless. Yet fate had a different path in store for her. For all her efforts, all her best laid plans, were but the broken off crumbs of 'one day'. That day, she was brutally slain by a vile, accursed undead being.

Though, not even restful eternity awaited her in death.

She awakened inside a coffin. Her coffin. During her own funeral wake. Discovering, to her horror, that she had risen. Not somehow resurrected, no, but back in the form of that most hated of beings--the curse of undeath.

What will fate deal her next?

Inescapable Escapism I: The Worlds Behind Her Eyelids - Alexa Lee

“Tell me, kid... How do you feel about desecrating a graveyard?”

Her imagination becomes her only source of escape, and there she meets a grizzly treasure hunter, Mitch, with a history of rescuing strays. He takes Grace under his wing, allowing her to accompany him on his search for a long-lost artefact.

The lines between reality and imagination blur as Grace continues to delve into her daydreams whenever reality is too hard to deal with, but soon, she finds other worlds. However, they are not as welcoming as she expected, and escape may not be quite so simple...

Tales of the Riverfolk I: Fish on a Stick - JP Weaver

“You get to pick one, nephew… great location, the ideal time of day, or a crowd of hungry foxes, birds, and otters. Which do you pick?”

“The third one every time, Uncle,” said the young otter. “If the foxes from the ministry had lunch at midnight, I would be there to sell.”

Chip finally has come of age and as usual for an otter of his age, he wants to work for the Riverfolk Community Trust and Mercenary Company. He has been trying to pick up the trade from his uncle, selling fish to fox and bird nobles at the Yellowrock Bazaar, but when a few new competitors enter the scene during the festival competition, can this otter pull out all the stops and make a killing selling fast food?

The Last Rae of Hope I: A Hero Returned - Eura Abrams

I really should’ve taken the publisher’s employment contract more seriously…

However, when they’re given the chance to help the enigmatic author complete the tale that captivated their hearts five years after the story's abrupt hiatus, they seize the opportunity.

But when they're whisked away without consent into the very story they long to save, the two must battle the destructive demon lord who betrayed and banished the heroine during the story's original cliffhanger. However, something seems amiss…

What if the card-carrying man isn’t quite the villain everyone else seems to think he is?

The Last Rae of Hope II: Holy Order of Gold - Eura Abrams

Victory doesn't always feel like winning. But that doesn't make it any less necessary.

The Chosen One has returned to Speranza, but not everyone is celebrating. Rachel, now known as Captain Raelynn Lightbringer, has reluctantly reassembled the Holy Order of Gold. However, saving the world takes more than a hero's party, a sword arm, and good intentions. She must navigate a seemingly impossible political minefield.

Two warring military orders are bent on destroying each other, and Rachel stands in the middle. She must broker peace between them, lead a fractured team, and survive a royally-sponsored hero convention that somehow catches fire. But when she finally arrives at the Holy City of Chairo, she walks straight into Councilman Pravum's trap…

Rachel fights to overcome every challenge—even if it strains her bond with her best friend Nora. However, when she makes a decision that Relias didn't sanction, in public, with everyone watching, she is forced to discover the hardest truth of leadership: the right call and the popular one are rarely the same.

However, when death comes for the girls, there is only one way to go. Unless they ask their new friend for a favour…

Ronald, the Ronin - Curtis A. Deeter

One year ago, Ronald and his brother Jiro entered a magical portal to complete their final trial and join the secret samurai society, the Order of the Golden Bonsai. Only Ronald returned.

Now a far from ordinary high school student, Ronald turns to hip-hop and music production in a desperate attempt to forget what he experienced, whilst his father relies on alcohol. At first, this seems to work for Ronald, and he spends his days contending with bullies, navigating relationships and even managing to attract the attention of his crush.

However, when his father destroys his computer in a drunken fit of rage, this all changes. Ronald’s main source of comfort and distraction is ripped away from him, and his mental health begins to unravel. Then, an assassin, sent by the Order, arrives at his house.

Ronald cannot outrun his past, and he’s forced to confront a world he’s spent the last year trying to forget. All he can do is try to finish what he and Jiro started. Boy Bands and Dragons I: Our Comeback Tour is Slaying Monsters - Kim Smuga-Otto

"We're getting the band back together, you want in?"

Against his better judgment, Kyle Moretti — the least notable member of the once-world famous boy band, Never Boy Land — says yes.

He’s prepared for the drama and clashing egos that drove the band apart four years ago. What he isn’t expecting is for a VR publicity stunt to teleport the band to the magical land of Mythreal.

The good news? They're greeted by Souffy, an attractive young mage, a true fangirl in the making. The bad? She's in trouble with the law, and Kyle's bandmates have no clue how to cope with a real magical world — they don't play "nerd games"…

Caravan of Blades I: Imagine Wagons - JP Weaver

“It’ll be a good opportunity,” they said. Little did they know.

Finley, the roving tinker and sales extraordinaire (who may or may not be an elf), would prefer to avoid the heroic riffraff and their suffocating, otherworldly hope. Unfortunately, the pantheon has other ideas which is ever noticeable when they keep dropping summoned heroes in his path, insistent that they’ll be the savior.

Why? Great question! Finley has no idea. His world has been overrun by zombies, so why bother? His business is already in turmoil–expected really, when the “regulars” would rather be eating brains than buying flowers for loved ones and the uninfected are busy trying to survive. Yet, the higher powers saw heroes as the solution. What’s a merchant meant to do with them? Or their worthless money in such a vile economy?

One thing is for sure… When the horde comes calling, you better have an escape plan.

Chronicles of The Badger Company: The Badger Company - JP Weaver

"If I die, you’d better come back and avenge me, you goddamn ghost in the machine."

Malcolm Parker was poised to make history as the habitation engineer who made his country's colonization initiatives possible—until a stealth missile strike destroyed the U.S. moon base. All that’s left of him is his A.I. clone, who must carry on both his fantasy tabletop campaign and the original mission: find and secure the closest habitable system.

Trapped inside a space probe with a computer for a brain and other AIs for company, Malcolm and his crew face hostile spacecraft alone. The same assailants in pursuit or an opportunistic third party—either way they seem intent on wiping out the last remnants of America’s space program. Artificial intelligence isn't recognized as people under U.S. law, so as far as the top brass in the U.S. military is concerned, the crew is on their own.

Or are they?
