June Updates!
Hello!
Weaver here, and I am sweating like a boar in the forest.
Our new anthology is now out, and we think you’ll really enjoy these short LitRPG stories! If you have ever wanted to hear about how an NPC breaks out of the mold they've been forced into, look no further than our NPC anthology, A Day in the Life!
As I mentioned last time, the virtual convention, Numbers Go Up, is starting today!
Join writers from the progression fantasy and LitRPG community for three days of panels, interactive sessions, and networking with writers, narrators, publishers, and fans.
You can swing by each of the Discord servers to get involved or watch the events via livestream on YouTube by following this link!
Programming is split across three Discord servers (all times are in EST):
Friday, June 19: The Forum
Events include:
4:45 pm: Numbers Go Up Introductory Talk and KeyNote, featuring me, Yak from The Forum and Milc from the Royal Road Writers Guild. We’ll be there for the keynote address to talk about the entire convention and why we think it’s important to come together as a community.
6:15 pm: Community Panel: Cultivating Your Own Path
7:30 pm: What Does Writing to Market Really Mean?
8:45 pm: Game of Tropes
10 pm: Tonic Talks Numbers (Live only- this won’t have any recordings sadly)
Saturday, June 20: Royal Road Writers Guild
Events include:
12 pm: Published Authors Panel
1:15 pm: Publisher Roundtable
3 pm: Tess Irondale Interview by Eura Abrams! You’re in for a treat with this one. Eura is an author of ours, and Tess narrated her first two books. Tess is an industry veteran with many awards. She’s worked with small publishers like us and massive ones like Penguin Random House. Easy to say she’ll have invaluable information about audiobooks!
5 pm: “Let’s Make a Story”
Sunday, June 21: Weaververse
Events include:
12 pm: Editing Panel
2 pm: Community Panel: Panel Roulette
4:30 pm: Community Panel: Tools
6 pm: Hear to Improve - Bound to be another fun event! I’m part of the Hear to Improve group. We meet weekly as mentioned in the prior newsletter. It’s always a fun time, and I have no doubt they’ll put on a great show for this panel.
8 pm: Comedy and Satire - hosted by yours truly and Eura Abrams! We’ll be discussing what it takes to write comedy and satire in this industry. Feel free to come and laugh at us (or hopefully with us)!
9:30 pm: Ghostwriting: Making Money with Someone Else’s Name
For a full list of events and their hosts, check out the schedule.
If you haven’t decided on summer plans yet, consider coming to Denver, Colorado, in early July! LitRPG Con is July 10-12th.
Myself, Eura Abrams, and Aaron Sofaer will all be seen hanging around tables 65 and 66! Come say hi!
There will be plenty of signed copies of Quill & Still, A Hero Returned and Imagine Wagons for you to purchase! Or if you already have a copy, we’ll be happy to sign those for you! Lastly, a special early paperback copy of Eura’s second book, Holy Order of Gold, will be there! Get it early at LitRPG Con only!
Tickets are available for purchase here!
But if you can't make it, don't worry! The full release of Holy Order of Gold is happening on August 11th, and you can pre-order that right here!
See that artwork? I could only drool about these hunky sidekicks.
Keep an eye on the page to pre-order the audiobook once it’s available too! It’s been narrated by the one and only Tess Irondale! We're so excited for it!
Yours in reading,
JP Weaver and the Riverfolk Staff
